Istanbul has never been one city. Greek colony, Roman capital, Byzantine relic, Ottoman seat: every era poured its gold into the same ground and built on what came before. The pieces of this series are drawn from that layering, designed from the city rather than for it.
Each piece is cast and hand-finished in Istanbul's craft district, in workshops descended from the Grand Bazaar tradition. The forms carry what the city has long worn: the weight of empire, the patience of hand engraving, gold worked the way this place has worked it for centuries.
