About these Terms
These Terms of Sale govern every purchase from Guild 79. By placing an order, you accept these Terms together with our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy.
Where local law in your country of residence gives you non-waivable consumer rights, those rights apply in addition to anything stated here. Where these Terms and a non-waivable right conflict, the law prevails.
Who we are
Guild 79 is operated by Guild 79 LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States, registered address 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801. We can be reached at hello@guild79.com.
The pieces are designed and sold by Guild 79 LLC and made by hand in independent Istanbul, Turkey ateliers, by goldsmithing partners working under the Guild 79 design and quality direction. There is no pre-made inventory.
What you are buying
Every Guild 79 piece is made after your order, in our Istanbul ateliers. There is no pre-made inventory.
Each piece is made in the karat gold shown on its product page; the karat varies by piece and is stamped in the piece. Each piece carries, stamped discreetly:
- Its gold fineness mark
- The atelier's maker's mark
- The GUILD 79 mark
- The country-of-origin mark: TURKEY
Coloured stones are described on each product page. Each significant stone comes with an independent laboratory report disclosing identity, weight, and any treatment.
Each piece also ships with a provenance certificate carrying its edition number, a unique verification token, and a QR code linking to the digital provenance record, country-of-origin disclosure (Turkey) on the piece, on the packaging, and on the certificate.
The product page lists full dimensions and includes a scale-reference image so you can verify the size of the piece before ordering.
The weight and measurements shown on a product page are nominal: they describe the design. Because every piece is individually cast and finished by hand, a finished piece may vary slightly from the stated figures. This variation is a characteristic of handwork, not a defect, and does not affect the fit of a piece made to a size you provide. The price is for the finished piece and is not calculated by weight. The stated karat, the gold's purity, is exact and is guaranteed by the fineness mark stamped in the piece. Stone weights are as recorded in the accompanying laboratory report.
Tiers and editions
Pieces are sold in living tiers, shown clearly on the product page and on the certificate:
- Gold collections are ongoing, tied to living cities, and grow over time as new variations are added
- Ruby collections are limited, colored-stone, and journey-bound, capped at a fixed number of pieces
When every piece in a collection is claimed by a final owner, the collection closes and enters the Obsidian archive, a sealed record of pieces now in private hands. No further pieces are made or sold from an Obsidian collection.
Edition numbers are sequencing for the collection. They identify your piece within the run. They are not in themselves a personalisation.
Personalisation
Personalisation is offered as an opt-in step at checkout on every Gold and Ruby piece. You may add a short inscription (up to 10 characters), custom sizing to a measurement you provide, or material substitutions made at your request. Adds three to five days to production.
Because every piece is made to order, all sales are final: we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. This applies to every piece, personalised or not, and is disclosed on the product page and at checkout before payment. It does not affect the protections for pieces that arrive damaged, defective, or not as described, set out in the Refund Policy.
Order, payment, production
Orders are accepted at our discretion; we confirm acceptance by email. Production begins once the 24-hour cancellation window closes and typically takes two to three weeks from the day your payment is taken. Personalised pieces add three to five days; one-of-one commissions follow the timeline agreed with you. If production runs past the estimate, we write to you with a revised date; you may accept it or cancel for a full refund.
Payment is authorised at checkout and collected in full before production begins. We accept major credit and debit cards via Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe), Apple Pay and Google Pay (with biometric verification on your device). For commissions, payment by bank transfer can be arranged; write to us before ordering. Bank-transfer payments follow the same cancellation and refund terms; refunds are returned by bank transfer to the sending account in the original currency and amount, and receiving-bank fees are outside our control. We do not store your payment card details.
Order cancellation
- Any order, personalised or not, may be cancelled within 24 hours of the time on your order confirmation email. Production does not begin inside that window. Email orders@guild79.com with your order number; the time you send the email is what counts. Valid cancellations are refunded to the original payment method within 5 business days. This is a contractual courtesy offered in addition to any non-waivable right you may have under local law.
- Once the window closes and production begins, an order cannot be cancelled, as the piece is being made specifically for you.
Returns
Every Guild 79 piece is made to order and is therefore final sale. We do not offer returns or exchanges for change of mind.
This does not affect your right to a remedy where something is wrong with the piece. Any piece that arrives damaged, defective, or not as described will be repaired, replaced, or refunded. Nothing in this policy excludes that right.
United States: the final-sale terms above are disclosed clearly before payment is taken.
Australia: we do not offer refunds for change of mind. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
New Zealand: we do not offer refunds for change of mind. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.
Turkey: made-to-order, personalised, and custom-sized pieces are exempt from the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal (cayma hakkı) under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and are final sale. The 14-day right of withdrawal applies only where you order a genuinely standard, ready-made size selected from a list, with no personalisation; in that case you may withdraw within 14 days of delivery under Law No. 6502.
The full return categories, the inspection procedure, the damage-in-transit claim procedure, the pre-authorisation step, and the chargeback handling are set out in our Refund Policy. By placing an order, you agree to follow that policy.
Sizing
Choosing the correct size is the customer's responsibility. The product page provides full dimensions and sizing guidance. Because pieces are made to your size, an incorrect size provided by the customer is not a defect. We offer a lifetime resizing service to correct fit; material work is quoted before it begins (see Lifetime service).
Provenance certificate and ownership
Every Guild 79 piece ships with a provenance certificate. The certificate carries an edition number, a unique verification token, and a QR code linking to the digital provenance record. The certificate stays with the piece and may be transferred to a subsequent owner. See our Care & Repair page for the transfer procedure.
The certificate is a record of authenticity issued by Guild 79. It does not constitute a warranty of value, fitness for purpose, or future market price. We retain the copyright to the certificate design, the photography, and the provenance content; you may use these for personal documentation but not commercially without our written consent.
Lifetime service
Guild 79 offers free lifetime service for non-material work: polishing, prong tightening, clasp replacement, restringing, structural object repair, and minor resize within tolerance. Customers cover transport to and from the atelier; we cover the work. Material work (resize requiring added gold, stone replacement, re-casting, significant restoration) is offered at material cost plus time, quoted before work begins.
See the Care & Repair page for full lifetime service detail.
Limited warranty
One year against manufacturing defects from delivery date. Covers structural failure of settings, clasps, or solder joints under normal wear. Damage from accidents, misuse, exposure to chemicals, or natural wear of finishes falls outside the warranty but remains repairable under lifetime service.
This limited warranty is given by Guild 79 LLC to the original purchaser. To make a claim, email care@guild79.com with your order or edition number; we repair or replace the piece. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state or country. It is in addition to any non-waivable consumer rights you have under applicable law in your country of residence.
Identity verification on flagged orders
We may, at our discretion, request photo identification and the last four digits of the payment card before processing orders above USD 3,000. This is part of our anti-fraud and customer-verification checks, applied voluntarily in line with good practice for the precious-metals sector.
We apply customer due-diligence and record-keeping practices consistent with recognised anti-money-laundering standards for the precious-metals and stones sector, and we comply with any reporting obligations that apply to us under US law. Identity images are deleted once verification is complete; the fact and outcome of the check are kept as a fraud-prevention record for the period stated in our Privacy Policy.
Chargebacks
We ask that you contact us at orders@guild79.com before initiating a chargeback. Most concerns are resolved within two to three business days when raised directly. Should a chargeback be filed, we may submit delivery confirmation, photographic inspection records, the provenance certificate record, and order communication to the payment processor as evidence of fulfilment.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with any single piece, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, is limited to the amount you paid us for that piece. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of resale value, loss of personal occasion, or loss of goodwill.
Nothing in this clause limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to earthquakes, fire, flood, war, pandemic, terrorism, courier disruption, customs strike, government action, or material supply failure. Where a force majeure event affects a specific order, we will notify you with a revised date, and you may cancel for a full refund at any point while the order is delayed.
Intellectual property
All Guild 79 brand elements, including the Globe interface, the certificate design, the Roman numeral system, the photography, the journal content, and the trademarks, are owned by Guild 79 LLC and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share photographs of pieces you own on personal social media for non-commercial use; commercial use, retail listing on third-party sites, or use of our certificate template requires our written consent.
Right to refuse
We reserve the right to refuse any order, at our discretion and without explanation, including where we reasonably suspect fraud, where we are unable to verify identity, where the destination is outside our shipping coverage, or where local law in the destination country prohibits or restricts the import of precious metal goods.
Privacy
Your personal information is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, our operations, or service offerings. The version in effect when you place an order is the version that applies to that order. Material changes are noted on the policy page with a new "Last updated" date.
Disputes and governing law
These Terms, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that this jurisdiction clause does not deprive a consumer of any right they may have, under non-waivable consumer law in their country of habitual residence, to bring proceedings there.
Before commencing formal proceedings, please contact us at hello@guild79.com. Most concerns are resolved directly within a few business days.
