How does Guild 79 work?
Guild 79 is a place-bound craft house. Each piece is made by hand in our atelier, tied to a specific place. Some places are continuous: cities we keep returning to. Others are journeys: a single visit, a closed collection, a sealed archive. There is no wait list and no insider tier. What you see on the Globe is what exists today. What's gone is gone, into private hands, into the archive.
-
What are Gold and Ruby collections?
Two kinds of collections. Gold collections are ongoing: pieces tied to living cities (Miami, Istanbul, London). They grow over time as new variations are added. Ruby collections are limited and journey-bound: pieces born from a single visit to a historical place (Gobekli Tepe, Troy). Each Ruby collection is capped, and once every piece is sold, the collection closes and is archived. The tier shows on the Globe pin, on the product page, and on your provenance certificate.
-
What does ‘Before Release’ mean on a collection?
We've returned from a place but the pieces aren't ready yet. The Globe pin is locked, the collection page tells you what's coming. When the work is finished, the pin unlocks and the pieces appear. No date is published. The work tells us when it's ready.
-
What happens when a Ruby collection sells out?
The collection enters the archive. The Globe pin changes from active to archived, still visible, still browsable for the certificate records, but the pieces themselves are in private hands. We don't reissue. Each Ruby collection exists once. That finality is what earned provenance means.
-
How long does production take?
Every Guild 79 piece is handmade in our atelier after your order is placed. No pre-made inventory, no warehouses. Production typically takes 2 to 3 weeks from the day your payment is taken; personalised pieces add 3 to 5 days. If it runs longer, we write with a revised date and you may cancel for a full refund. The time is the craft; what changes between Gold and Ruby is scarcity, not technique.
-
Can I cancel my order?
Yes. Any order can be cancelled within 24 hours of the time on your order confirmation email, personalised pieces included. Production does not begin inside that window, and the time you send your email is what counts. Email orders@guild79.com with your order number; valid cancellations are refunded within 5 business days.
-
Do you accept returns?
Every piece is made to order, so we do not accept change-of-mind returns or exchanges. What we always honour: any piece that arrives damaged, defective, or not as described is repaired, replaced, or refunded at no cost to you. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the consumer-protection law that applies to you.
Earrings ship in a clear, tamper-evident sealed pouch. You can verify the size and finish through the pouch before opening it. Earrings are made to order and final sale.
Personalised pieces are made to order and final sale. The personalisation choice is shown clearly before payment, so you know what you are selecting.
And if a piece simply disappoints you, write to us anyway. We read and answer everything ourselves, and any help we can offer stays within our Refund Policy.
Every shipment travels insured. If a piece arrives damaged, tell us within 48 hours with a photo and we repair, replace, or refund; we handle the courier claim. Read the full Refund Policy for detail.
-
Will my piece exactly match the listed weight and measurements?
The figures on each page describe the design and are nominal. Because every piece is cast and finished by hand, small variation from one piece to the next is normal and is part of what makes each one individual, not a fault. What is fixed is the gold: the karat shown is exact and carries the piece's hallmark, and the price is for the finished piece, not calculated by weight. Stone weights follow their laboratory report.
-
I ordered the wrong size, can I exchange?
Sizing is the customer's responsibility. Each product page lists full dimensions so you can confirm the size before ordering. We don't offer free wrong-size exchanges, and because every piece is made to order, an incorrect size you supplied is put right by resizing rather than a refund: minor resize is free (you cover transport), resize requiring added material is at cost and quoted before work begins.
-
How are pieces shipped?
Via insured express courier with signature required on delivery. End-to-end tracking provided. International transit is typically a few business days from Istanbul, subject to customs clearance.
-
Do I pay customs duties?
Duties are included in your order total for the United States, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Orders within Turkey are domestic (Turkish VAT applies). You should not be billed extra on delivery.
-
Do you ship to the EU or UK?
Not at the moment. We currently ship to the United States, Turkey, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. If you would like to hear when new regions open, join the newsletter at the foot of the page.
-
What is the Provenance Certificate?
Every Guild 79 piece includes a numbered certificate linked to a unique verification token. Scan the QR on your certificate card to access the piece's provenance record. Each certificate is linked to your specific edition number, and its verification record is kept in the Guild 79 archive.
-
Can a certificate be transferred if I sell the piece?
Yes. We offer edition transfer on secondary sales. Contact care@guild79.com with both parties' details. The old certificate is revoked and a new one issued to the buyer. Edition transfer is subject to identity verification of both parties.
-
Do you offer personalisation?
Yes. Personalisation is offered as an opt-in step at checkout on every Gold and Ruby piece. You may add a short inscription (up to 10 characters). Adds 3–5 days to production.
Personalised pieces are made to order and final sale. The choice is shown clearly before checkout so you know what you are selecting.
